1kx joins the second program as Venture Partner with peaq returning as Ecosystem partner
As DePIN projects continue to push through boundaries beyond digital resources and rapidly expand into other areas such as Telecom, Technology and more, Outlier Ventures is thrilled to announce the return of the DePIN Base Camp accelerator program. Following the huge success of our inaugural program in collaboration with peaq, we’re building on this momentum to welcome a new cohort of the best startups into the program with industry leading crypto investment firm 1kx, joining the program as Venture Partner.
The 10-week virtual accelerator program will include workshops with subject matter experts from Outlier Ventures and peaq’s group of core contributors, as well as mentorship from industry experts and up to $200,000 USD investment for participating teams from 1kx.
Applications are now open and will close in mid-February with the program starting at the end of February 2025.

The First DePIN Base Camp Program
Last year, Outlier Ventures joined forces with peaq to launch the DePIN Base Camp accelerator. Built on Outlier Ventures’ DePIN thesis, the program selected six teams, each tackling real-world challenges through innovative applications of DePIN across domains like mobility, energy, and Internet of Things (IoT). With comprehensive support from Outlier Ventures’ team of experts and peaq, the startups showcased the huge potential of combining decentralized infrastructure with blockchain technology.

Why We’re Bringing Back the DePIN Program
The program’s success highlighted the huge potential for DePIN-focused innovation and the demand to provide an even more comprehensive platform for emerging projects in this space. Web3 technology underpinning physical infrastructure has been built out over the past cycles. We believe now is the time to go mainstream driven by trends including cost curves, usability, privacy & security concerns, and data generation.
Our decision to bring back the DePIN program is also deeply rooted in its role as a critical component of The Post Web Tech Stack, where we envision the future of the Web heading.

- Data Networks: Designed to facilitate the collection, dissemination and analysis of data.
- Service Networks: Created to connect individuals and organizations and facilitate social and economic coordination around the services involving physical nodes.
