We’ve worked with some outstanding projects over the last year, selecting the top percentage of over 3500 start-ups applying to our programs. Base Camp 7 is no exception, with a highly curated cohort of 5 teams spanning from North America to New Zealand that represent the Open Metaverse OS and enable the convergence of technology, finance, and culture. Use cases and themes include; a curated NFT art community, non-fungible wallet, community driven launchpad DAO, incentivized data ownership network & web3 hardware.
We’re looking forward to working closely with these teams over the next quarter to fast track their development and help launch them into the Open Metaverse.
ARTPOOL – The first curator driven NFT platform

Problem:
The NFT art market is highly saturated and lacks professional curatorial expertise leaving buyers to research on their own. Traditional artists entering the space need a platform where they can bring their existing communities and develop their careers.
Solution:
Artpool is creating a secure and trusted platform that decentralizes the curation of NFTs by professional art experts. The social network and NFT marketplace exhibition bring artists, curators and institutions together with collectors for access to quality projects and financial support.
Citizend – A discovery DAO for Polkadot-native tokens
Problem:
There are a growing number of projects being built on Polkadot with substantial developer activity. The number of token generating events are expected to increase by 5-7 times and there are currently no native, credible launchpads in the Polkadot/Kusama ecosystem.
Solution:
Citizend is building a Discovery DAO to help projects launch tokens, build a community and receive funds in a fair, transparent, and open way. The fully decentralized platform is built by and for the Polkadot & Kusama community.
Immersve – The world’s first DeFi credit card

Problem:
Fiat on & off ramps for web3 assets earned or leveraged via DeFi protocols are typically complex, expensive, and time-consuming. Current scheme based cards do not cater to web3 users and limit the ability of projects to deliver value back to their community.
Solution:
Immersve is building a DeFi credit card that enables near-instant access to yield that can be used anywhere Mastercard is accepted. Each user will have a physical card & non-fungible wallet to process P2P payments, earn rewards across NFT projects, DeFi protocols, and more.
Ozone – Data ownership in the open metaverse

Problem:
The metaverse lacks universal solutions for user data ownership. Advertisers are shifting to immersive advertising which requires user-controlled persistent ID across platforms and users need a single interoperable solution.
Solution:
Ozone is building a software development kit that will allow any internet user to sync their personal data from any web3 platform and participate in incentivized data sharing. For developers, publishers, and advertisers, they provide access to quality data and a way to compensate contributors for their time and attention.
ZmBIZI – The phone that pays you.

Problem:
Smartphone users are spending an increasing amount of time on their devices and are generating data from every interaction – searching, shopping, sharing without reward. The consumer is the product.
Solution:
ZmBIZI is creating a device that merges 5G, Smart POS and blockchain technology to incentivize mobile activity, empower & reward the user. Each device has a built-in wallet to receive, store, exchange, and stake tokens and comes equipped with a virtual & physical VISA debit card.
