In strategic collaboration, Futureverse, a leading AI and metaverse technology and content company, and Outlier Ventures, the leading global web3 investor and accelerator by volume, announce today the launch of the Futureverse Base Camp accelerator. The program, which will receive funding from the recently announced Born Ready, a venture fund and studio created by the co-founders of Futureverse, will select a cohort of leading early-stage startups building across The Root Network, a public decentralized blockchain network optimized for metaverse apps and experiences. The program will provide the chosen teams with a virtual 12-week program filled with support from world-class experts. Starting in January 2024, the program marks a significant leap in supporting creators, innovators and communities shaping the future of the open metaverse.

Futureverse’s comprehensive technology platform includes a robust suite of proprietary AI content generation tools designed to enhance the music, objects, characters and animations that make up the metaverse.  Futureverse has led the development of The Root Network, a blockchain and suite of protocols with ready-made runtimes for building next-generation metaverse apps, games and experiences. The Futureverse Base Camp will focus on working with a select group of teams building out additional infrastructure for The Root Network as well as applications on top of it.

“Futureverse has created what we believe to be foundational building blocks and brand partnerships for the Open Metaverse at scale, to drive mass adoption. From the early stages of working with them, we have invested in multiple layers of their stack and IP, as they simultaneously partnered with  a growing number of portfolio companies coming out of our accelerator, deepening the partnership at each stage. We are now thrilled to run a dedicated accelerator with Futureverse to onboard more founders and creators into their ecosystem,” said Founder and CEO of Outlier Ventures, Jamie Burke.

Futureverse and Outlier Ventures will provide bespoke support tailored to each startup’s needs across different web3 technologies including protocol infrastructure that drives adoption, new consumer-facing games and experiences built using The Root Network along with creating utility for existing content and protocols. The program will also focus on supporting teams looking to use web3 technology to supercharge existing experiences in the real world and use cases that drive XRP liquidity such as the tokenization of physical assets.

“We are incredibly excited to launch our Futureverse Base Camp in collaboration with our incredible partners at Outlier. At Futureverse, we believe the future is a collective vision and that no single team can build the metaverse. We must do it together. This accelerator will allow us to collaborate and fund visionary entrepreneurs from our community and beyond on their efforts to shape the future of the internet,” said Co-Founders of Futureverse Aaron McDonald and Shara Senderoff.

The chosen teams will receive support from Outlier Ventures and Futureverse’s in-house team of experts and mentors on their product roadmap, community building, entity structuring, strategic partnerships and more.

Outlier Ventures’ programs have been accelerating web3 startups since 2019, with a portfolio of 250 startups from every region of the world, with notable alumni including Futureverse’s Immersve, along with Auki, Boson Protocol, Fetch.AI, Ocean Protocol, among others, which have collectively raised over US $350m in seed capital.

Co-founded by Aaron McDonald, Shara Senderoff, Marco Brondani and Daniel Gillespie, Futureverse recently announced a $54 million Series A funding round led by 10T Holdings, and including participation from Ripple. By rolling up 11 metaverse infrastructure and content companies into one collaborative ecosystem, Futureverse delivers the essential components for constructing any metaverse application, while maintaining one of the world’s largest digital collectible communities. In the last year, Futureverse has formed global strategic partnerships with renowned organizations and innovators including Wimbledon, FIFA, Authentic Brands Group (ABG), Mastercard, Death Row Records, Wētā Workshop, Snoop Dogg, Timbaland, Keanu Reeves and Alexandra Grant.  Futureverse recently announced a strategic partnership with blue-chip NFT collection Cool Cats, integrating the iconic Cool Cats brand with Futureverse’s cutting-edge technology while Senderoff and McDonald became members of the Cool Cats’ Board of Directors.

Applications for the Futureverse Base Camp open today and will close early December 2023. The 12-week program will commence in January 2024.
