About the National Technology Development Program

The National Technology Development Program of Saudi Arabia under the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. The objective of the NTDP is to support the development of the technology ecosystem. Aside from supporting accelerators, the NTDP offers a number of direct support initiatives that founders may be able to access in the future after successfully graduating. 

We are thrilled to partner with Outlier Ventures to achieve the goals of this partnership by working together to support the ecosystem of technology startups in Saudi Arabia. Why Now?

We continue to see the ambitious acceleration of science and innovation set out in the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 and their support for founders, and build out the tech ecosystem within the Kingdom.

Under Vision2030, Saudi Arabia is supporting the ecosystem of technology startups in Saudi Arabia and offering huge support to founders. This aligns with Outlier Venure’s overval focus on supporting founders and growing the Web3 ecosystem. 

With a young population and entrepreneurial drive, Saudi Arabia is primed to lead growth and innovation across the technology industry. We see strong interest from various private and public sector players to explore and adopt Web3 solutions and drive Web3 ecosystem growth.

Our Program Focus

Our upcoming Riyadh-based programme marks the beginning of a concerted focus on the MENA region. In accelerating the local deep-tech Web3 landscape, we’re working with the best builders in sectors of local comparative advantage. These may include Gaming, Smart cities, AI, and Digital Identity, but we are open to hearing from startups across all cutting edge Web3 deep-tech verticals.

In this era of rapid technological advancement, there has never been a more exciting time to be an entrepreneur. We look forward to connecting with builders in the MENA region and playing our part in shaping the future of innovation and entrepreneurship within Saudi Arabia under Vision 2030.

What do startups get out of the program?

Week 1-2

Helping you to maintain focus on OKRs & Web3 Readiness Framework and ensuring you’re optimally leveraging our network.

Week 3-6

Building your knowledge and refining your idea through workshops and 1:2:1 meetings with our Subject Matter Experts across token, design, legal, engineering, fundraising and more.

Week 7-12

Having learned and refined your idea in the first six weeks, the final weeks of the program are tailored towards supporting the key areas needed to bring product to market.

An opportunity to showcase your product to the wider Outlier network and 2 months fundraising support.

FAQs

It will be held in person in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The exact location in Riyadh will be communicated to accepted teams.

Yes, you will need to register a company in Saudi Arabia. For the duration of the program, between one or two founders will need to be present in Riyadh.

Founders will receive a stipend that will cover relocation costs and be connected to a local advisor with experience in supporting international companies establishing companies in the Kingdom.

Obtaining visas is a straightforward process for Saudi Arabia, exact details will be discussed with short-listed teams.

Founders are recommended to stay in Riyadh for the duration of the program to maximise the networking and cultural activities that the physical program offers.
