Datahop

A decentralised, user-operated content distribution network leveraging the power of users’ mobile devices and device to device connectivity.

Description:

DataHop is a decentralized content distribution network that operates at the network edge, bypassing the core and leveraging user smartphones and WiFi access points to distribute heavy content precisely where users require it. By utilizing direct Device-to-Device (D2D) connectivity and smart connectivity solutions like Bluetooth and WiFi Direct, DataHop enables seamless and privacy-preserving communication between nearby users. This innovative approach significantly reduces cellular traffic for mobile network operators, streaming costs for end-users, and distribution expenses for content providers. Through blockchain technology and novel Proof-of-X consensus algorithms, DataHop incentivizes users for their contributions to the content delivery network, eliminating the need for costly CDN infrastructure.
